gygès, played as a sequencer
Gygès: 12 shared rings -- four each of height 1, 2 and 3 -- sit on a 6×6 board with no fixed owner. Each turn you must move a ring from your own front-most occupied row, in a path of orthogonal steps exactly as long as its height, turning when needed. Land on an empty space and your move is done; land on another ring and you choose -- bounce the moving ring onward using the encountered ring’s height (leaving that ring in place), or replace it on an empty square, never beyond the opponent’s playable row. If the nearest row is blocked, play from the next row with a legal move. Each connection may be used only once per turn. Start with the balanced arrangement or choose Arrange opening to place your rings. Get any ring off the far edge into your opponent's goal and you win. The twist here: every move sweeps a bar once across the six columns, left to right, and sings whatever's sitting on each column as it passes -- row picks the pitch, a ring's own height picks the register, and the skin you choose is the instrument.
